What is Voyonder?
Voyonder is an AI-powered travel planning partner. Instead of filling out forms, you have a conversation with Sage, your personal AI travel concierge. Sage asks the right questions, catches logistics problems, and builds a beautiful itinerary — in minutes, not hours. See a real example: the 5-day Rome sample itinerary at voyonder.com/sample-rome-5day (no signup needed).
Creating Your Account
Sign up at voyonder.com/join with your email address, or use the "Continue with Google" button to sign up with your Google account. If signing up by email, you'll receive a magic link to verify your email — no password needed. If the email doesn't arrive, use the 'Resend email' button on the same screen (you can resend every 30 seconds). Once verified, you can start planning immediately with a 7-day free trial. No credit card required. Right after you verify, we'll send you a welcome email with a finished sample itinerary so you can see what Sage produces before planning your own trip — and over your first week, a couple of friendly follow-ups (see Free Trial Details below).
Planning Your First Trip
After signing in, click 'New Trip' to start planning — or pick a ready-made trip template on the welcome page to get started with one click. Templates cover six popular trips: a romantic Paris weekend, a family Orlando vacation, a solo Tokyo adventure, a Bali couples retreat, an NYC business trip, and a London culture tour. Clicking a template creates the trip immediately — Sage gets to work planning your itinerary while you watch a progress indicator (Destination → Planning → Your Trip) with live status messages. You can also start fresh by typing any destination into the 'Where to?' field. Your first message is where planning happens. If it says where you are going and when, Sage writes your draft itinerary on that same message — there is no 'shall I plan it?' question to answer, and no Continue or Approve step. For example, 'Lisbon, 2027-03-02 to 2027-03-22, just me' comes back with a plan for all 21 days. Write your dates as year-month-day, like 2027-03-02. Dates written in words, such as 'arriving 2 March 2027', can be read without the year you wrote, so the trip lands in the current year instead — see 'The trip is dated a year earlier than I asked for' under Known Issues. If your first message is missing something Sage needs, Sage asks exactly one question and nothing else: with a destination but no dates it asks 'When do you arrive, and when do you leave?', and with dates but no destination it asks 'Where are you going?'. Nothing is planned until you answer, and answering that one question is all it takes. Once the plan exists, keep talking to Sage in plain English — travel style, budget, interests, and pace — like talking to a travel agent.
Understanding the Dashboard
Your dashboard shows all your trips, recent activity, and quick actions. Each trip card shows the destination, dates, and progress. Click a trip to open it and continue planning. You'll also find suggested activities, pricing info, and collaboration options from the dashboard.
Guided Onboarding Checklist (v0.2.34, updated v0.2.36)
When you're new to Voyonder and haven't created any trips yet, you'll see a guided onboarding checklist on your dashboard. It walks you through four steps: Start your free trial, Create your first trip, Talk to Sage, and Complete your itinerary. The trial step (step 1) is complete when your subscription is in an active trial — you can start the 7-day Explorer trial directly from the checklist with no credit card required. If your account already has an active subscription or has already used its free trial, the trial step simply shows as already complete, and you can move on to the planning steps. Progress is tracked automatically — each step checks off as you complete it, and a progress bar shows your overall completion. Once you finish all four steps, the checklist disappears and a completion event is recorded.
Searching Documentation (v0.5.1)
A search bar at the top of the Documentation page lets you find any topic instantly. Type a keyword (2 or more characters) and relevant sections appear ranked by relevance — title matches are weighted highest, then tags, then body content. Use the keyboard: up/down arrows to navigate results, Enter to jump to that section, and Esc to close. Search happens in your browser, so what you type is not sent to us. The same search is available on the Release Notes page to find past release entries by version, summary, or details.

Using Sage
Get the most out of your AI travel concierge.
Chatting with Sage
Sage is your AI travel concierge. Start a conversation about any trip — existing or new. Sage has a four-lens understanding of travel: customer fit (your preferences), practical reality (budget, timing, logistics), group dynamics (travel companions), and coordination (action items, decisions, follow-ups). While Sage works on your request, a progress indicator shows what stage of processing is happening: Thinking, Researching, or Responding. Most responses complete in a few seconds — if the indicator appears stuck on a stage for more than about 15 seconds, try rephrasing your question. While Sage is generating your itinerary, the trip page checks for updates every few seconds. This means you can watch your itinerary take shape as Sage works — day descriptions, activities, and suggestions appear in real-time on the trip page, not all at once after Sage finishes responding. Your itinerary stays current even before Sage's response is complete. Sage is the only one who sees its own working notes. To change your trip, Sage writes itself a short instruction — add this activity, move that one to another day, remember this traveler's name — and those instructions are not part of the conversation: you read Sage's explanation in plain language, while the changes they describe appear as suggestion cards in the itinerary panel for you to accept, reject or modify. If you scroll back through a conversation you started before 20 October 2026, you may still see those instruction fragments in the older messages, because they were saved as part of the reply at the time — see 'An older Sage conversation shows odd instruction text' under Known Issues. Sage also automatically checks your trip's logistics with every message — five dimensions in parallel: temporal consistency, geographic efficiency, transport feasibility, booking urgency, and seasonal closure awareness. If something needs attention (like an impossible transport link or high booking urgency), Sage adjusts its advice accordingly, all behind the scenes. To keep Sage fast and reliable for everyone, fair-use safeguards are in place: a per-user daily generation cap (50 generations per rolling 24-hour window) and per-user hourly token limits (soft warning at 50,000 tokens, hard limit at 100,000 tokens). Normal use never approaches these limits — they only protect against excessive usage. If you hit the daily generation cap, you'll see a clear message and can try again the next day. If you hit the hourly token limit, you'll see a message and can try again after a short wait. When planning a trip with companions, Sage intelligently detects group dynamics — it considers each traveler's preferences, identifies potential compatibility mismatches (like differing activity interests), flags safety and mobility constraints, and surfaces energy-level differences. Sage's coordination suggestions factor in group tension and alignment, helping your group find compromises and rotate activity choices so everyone gets experiences they'll enjoy.
Sage plans the trip from your first message
When you start a new trip, the first message you send Sage is enough to plan it. Give Sage the destination and the dates you will be there, and Sage plans the stay in one go: your itinerary arrives as a document you can open and read day by day, not as a conversation about one. A stay of several weeks is planned a week at a time, so a long trip arrives as one plan instead of stopping after the first few days. If the first message leaves out the destination, or the dates, Sage asks one question and waits — "Where are you going?" when it has no destination, and "When do you arrive, and when do you leave?" when it has one but no usable dates. There is no form and no list of questions: answer in a sentence and Sage plans the stay from there. The first message does not have to be written carefully. Budget, pace, interests, who is travelling and where you want to stay all shape the plan, but Sage does not hold the first plan up waiting for them — they arrive on later turns and the plan is revised from there. If the plan is for more than one person, say so ("for two people", "a family of four"): a party you have not described is paced and costed for one person. One thing worth checking: if the departure date you give falls before the arrival date, Sage usually reads the stay as a single day rather than asking you again. A plan far shorter than the trip you described usually means the dates were read the other way round — check the dates saved on the trip, and start a new trip with the arrival and departure written the way round you meant.
Logistics Intelligence (v0.2.62, enhanced v0.2.64)
With every message you send, Sage automatically runs five behind-the-scenes checks on your trip's feasibility: Temporal consistency — Are your dates and destinations realistic together? If you're visiting 4 cities in 3 days, Sage notes the pace may be tight. Geographic efficiency — Are your destinations grouped logically? Sage suggests visiting nearby cities consecutively to minimize travel time. Transport feasibility — Is there a realistic way to get between your destinations? Sage estimates transport options (car, bus, train, or flight) based on distance. Booking urgency — How urgently should you book? Sage considers how many days remain until your trip and flags accommodation, activities, or transport that may need immediate booking. Seasonal closure awareness — Are any attractions or services affected by the season? Sage checks for known seasonal patterns like Oktoberfest dates, ski season in the Alps, Greek ferry schedules, Mount Fuji climbing season, and US national park winter road closures. These checks run in parallel on every message and inform Sage's responses. There is no separate logistics dashboard — the intelligence works behind the scenes to make Sage's advice smarter. If you want to know what Sage is checking, just ask: 'Is this itinerary realistic?' or 'Do I need to book anything now?'
Refining Your Itinerary
You can ask Sage to modify any part of your itinerary. Say things like 'Swap the museum visit on Day 2 with a cooking class' or 'I'd prefer a quieter hotel.' Sage understands context and makes adjustments without losing the rest of your plan. Every change is tracked with version history.
Research Queries (R1a)
Sage accepts natural-language research requests on the trip page. Ask for things like 'hotels in Paris under $300 for 4 people' or 'flights to Tokyo in December.' Sage may ask clarifying questions to narrow your request before producing results — for example, confirming a budget range or checking date flexibility. Each request is broken down into travel details — destination, budget (any currency), traveler count, and category (accommodation, dining, transport, activities) — and the system builds structured research items from those details. Each research item carries provider attribution (e.g. booking.com), price per night, rating, amenities, an overall fit score, and a confidence level. Items also include multi-perspective fit assessments: audience fit (how well the option matches solo, couple, family, cultural, and adventure travel styles), budget fit, and experience quality. While Sage is preparing a new trip's research, a status indicator in the same trip overview panel shows 'Sage is checking what we know about [destination]…' or a progress message. When Sage answers a question about a destination it has already researched, the reply shows the research it used as Research cards in the chat — one card per source, labelled with what it covers — for example Destination Overview, Accommodation, Activity, Transport, Safety, Seasonal or Visa. An answer shows up to five. Each card carries a short summary and a freshness line: 'Current as of <date>' while the research is a week old or less, and 'Last updated N days ago — info may have changed' once it is older than that. On a phone the cards start collapsed — tap one to open it; on a desktop they start open. Some research also appears on the trip page itself, for example the destination safety section, with its own freshness label. Research is never written into your itinerary automatically: to put one of these results in your plan, ask Sage in chat (for example, 'Add that hotel to day 2'), or use the accept controls on suggestions in the itinerary panel. When you create a trip, Voyonder starts three background research jobs per destination — a destination overview, seasonal information, and safety information — covering accommodations, activities, transport, and dining recommendations. Research for a first-time destination usually finishes in about a minute, and can take up to a minute and a half when our AI provider is busy. A 'Researching destinations…' banner appears at the top of the trip page and checks progress every 5 seconds, showing how many jobs have finished (for example, '2/3 complete'); it dismisses itself when the research is done and confirms 'Destination research complete — Sage is ready!' The banner reports complete only when all three research jobs for every destination have actually finished: while one is still waiting or running — including research already under way for the same destination — it stays open and keeps counting, and if a destination's research cannot all be started it says 'Research incomplete — some destinations were deferred.' instead. If a job failed and was then retried successfully, the banner reports the successful retry, not the old failure. You don't have to wait — keep planning while research runs in the background. The banner sits inside the trip overview panel at the top of the trip page, and that panel starts collapsed — expand the trip overview to see it (on a phone the overview opens from the trip header). Research runs whether or not the panel is open. If you ask Sage about hotels or things to do right after creating a trip, you may briefly see research marked 'queued' or 'in progress' before results appear — that is expected, not a problem. The banner also offers a Skip button, and it may move on by itself after about a minute ('Research skipped — you can still plan your trip'); skipping only hides the indicator — the research keeps running in the background and your results still arrive. Research items carry provider attribution and a sources array. Note: web-citation content within sources is not yet populated — provider attribution is available but in-depth web references are a known capability gap currently under development. Research runs in the background with automatic recovery if a request is interrupted by a restart or outage.
Understanding Your Travel Details
When you describe a trip, Voyonder recognizes the key details automatically: destinations (airports and cities), dates and date ranges, budget limits, hotel and airline names, activity categories (sightseeing, dining, transport, nightlife, and more), and how many travelers are in your group. These details drive more accurate research and recommendations.
Activity Discovery (v0.2.14, coverage restored 2026-10-20)
Researched activities for a destination load from the saved copy straight away, so a trip to a place we have covered opens with its activities already there — the Activities tab reads 'Activities in [destination] — 20 of 20 activities'. When that saved copy needs refreshing, the page updates it while you browse. Researched activities now exist for 30 destinations, and that list grows as more places are researched. A destination we have not researched yet is researched the first time a trip with that destination is opened. Four messages tell you where that research stands: • 'Sage is checking what we know about [destination]…' — the first few seconds for a destination that is new to us. Nothing for you to do. • 'Sage is still looking at [destination] — searching a place from scratch usually takes about two minutes.' — research is still running. This is the progress message saying so: not a failure, and nothing for you to do. A destination researched for the first time can take up to about two minutes. • 'We couldn't finish finding activities for [destination]', with a Retry button — our research either reported a problem, or was still running well past two minutes with nothing found for that destination yet. If it is still running, this message clears by itself as soon as the activities arrive; press Retry or reload the page if it stays. It does not mean the place has nothing to offer. • 'No activities found for [destination] — try a nearby destination' — the research finished and found nothing for that place. That is a real answer: a nearby destination, or a question to Sage in chat, is the next step. An activity can also be missing its location. The suggestions are complete enough to read and to add to your itinerary, but for some destinations only a few of them are placed on the map. Adding an activity to a day does not depend on the map. The activity catalog behind these suggestions is separate from the suggestions themselves: it holds 36 activity types with the effort, skill, and age and mobility details the product uses, plus three example activities — the Rattlesnake Ledge hike near North Bend, Washington, and a kayaking and a white water rafting trip in the Soča Valley, Slovenia. The catalog gives Sage something to reason with; it does not by itself produce suggestions for a destination you are planning. What to do when the panel is empty: • Press Retry, or reload the trip page once. A destination being researched for the first time often needs longer than the messages suggest. • Ask Sage in chat for ideas — 'What are three good things to do in Lisbon with two teenagers?' — and suggestions arrive in the conversation. • If a destination is still empty after a reload or two, email support@voyonder.com with the destination and roughly when you opened the trip.
NPS Surveys & Feedback (v0.2.34, updated v0.2.39)
After you complete a trip, Voyonder may ask you to rate your experience with a short NPS (Net Promoter Score) survey. The prompt appears for trips that are marked complete — even if you didn't set an end date. If you're not ready to share feedback, choose 'Ask me later' and the survey will reappear after 48 hours. Choose 'Skip' to dismiss it permanently. Your feedback helps us improve Voyonder for everyone. For free-tier users, the survey now ends with a 'Thanks for your feedback!' step and a 'Start your 7-day free trial' button right there — click it to begin your Explorer trial without a credit card.
Collaborating with Travel Companions
Invite travel companions to a trip and choose what each of them may do: an editor can change the itinerary, and a viewer can read the plan and comment but cannot change it. Invitations are sent by email with a secure link. Comments belong to the trip. Day cards and activities each carry their own comment thread — open it with the Comments button on a day card, or with Activity Comments inside an activity — and every comment is signed with the name of the person who wrote it. Replies go one level deep. Only people on the trip can read or post in those threads: the owner, the collaborators they invited, and members of the organization the trip belongs to. You have to be signed in, so a comment thread is never visible to someone who only holds a link. Where an invited companion can read the plan today: the trip page belongs to the account that created the trip. A companion who was invited has no trip page of their own to open, so joining a trip does not currently give them a place in Voyonder to read the plan or to post in its threads, even though the role allows both. That is a limitation of the product, not of your invitation — see "An invited travel companion cannot open the trip in Voyonder" under Known Issues. To read the plan with someone now, send them a share link instead: a View + comment link opens the itinerary in a page they can read and comment in without an account, kept separate from the trip's own threads — see Exporting and Sharing.
Safety Warnings on Activities
An activity can carry a safety warning — a coloured badge on the activity with one of three severities: Critical (red), Major (orange) or Minor (yellow). Open the badge to read the warning and the suggestion that comes with it. Accepting the risk: a warning stays on the activity until someone accepts it, using Accept Risk / Dismiss at the foot of the expanded warning. Critical and Major warnings ask you to confirm first — the button then reads Confirm Dismiss, and the panel spells out that dismissing means you accept the risk. Once accepted, the warning is removed from the activity — it stops appearing for everyone on the trip, and it stops being passed to Sage when it reviews your plan. It does not change to a different label; it goes away. Who can accept a risk: accepting is an edit to the trip, so it needs editor access — the trip owner, or a collaborator who was invited as an editor. A viewer cannot accept the risk; ask the owner or an editor to do it for you. If you are the owner or an editor and the button does nothing when you press it, see "I accepted the risk on a safety warning and nothing happened" under Troubleshooting. Safety warnings are advice, not errors. A Critical warning means look at this before you book, not that something is broken.
Coordination Panel (v0.2.51)
The Coordination tab on your trip page shows the action items, decisions, and follow-ups Sage tracks while helping your group plan. Items are grouped by type — Actions (things to do), Decisions (choices to make), and Follow-ups (things to circle back on) — each with a priority (High, Medium, or Low), a due date when one applies, and an assignee when Sage has one. A progress bar and completion percentage let you see at a glance how much of the group's coordination work is done. Tap the circle next to any item to mark it completed; completed items move out of the open list. If Sage hasn't generated any coordination items yet, the panel shows a friendly placeholder — items appear automatically as Sage helps your group plan.
Live Co-creation Suggestions (v0.7.4)
When you open a trip, Sage starts researching activities for your destinations in the background. A status bar at the top of the trip page shows the current phase: scanning (Sage checks what it knows about your destinations), researching (gathering activity data), enriching (adding details to activities), and complete. The indicator counts activities found so far, and once done it briefly confirms "{n} activities found" then fades out. That first pass always ends in an answer: the activities, a 'couldn't finish' message with a Retry button, or an explicit 'no activities found' for that destination. It does not run on a timer and disappear without saying which. As Sage generates ideas, activity cards appear directly in the itinerary panel with a green "Sage suggested" badge. Each card shows the category, name, description, duration, and cost if available. Three buttons let you act on each suggestion: Accept (moves it to your confirmed itinerary with a highlight animation), Reject (removes it with a fade animation), or Modify (flags it as modified — tell Sage what you'd like changed in chat, and the suggestion updates accordingly). Your accept and reject decisions are saved — they persist across a page refresh, so a suggestion you rejected won't come back, and one you accepted stays confirmed. Transport suggestions work the same way — suggested connections between destinations appear with accept/reject controls. Audit warnings may appear below some suggestions when Sage identifies a concern. Warnings come in three severity levels: info (blue — informational, like "This activity is popular"), warning (amber — something to consider, like "Booking recommended — fills up quickly"), and critical (red — review carefully, like "Price may increase closer to the date"). Each warning can be dismissed individually. Suggestions appear while Sage is still replying — activity additions, removals and moves between days, and transport suggestions all show up as Sage produces them, not all at once after Sage finishes responding. You do not have to refresh the page to see them. A few things worth knowing before you start accepting suggestions: • Accept and Reject are final. Both decisions save immediately and there is no undo button — a rejected suggestion will not come back after a refresh. If you reject something by accident, just ask Sage for something similar; it can suggest it again. • Modify flags a suggestion rather than editing it. The button marks the card as modified so you and Sage both know it needs a change — describe the change you want in chat (for example, 'Make the museum visit shorter') and Sage will update it. There is no inline editor yet. • The pre-build progress bar is not the whole story. It follows Sage's first pass of background research for your destinations and ends when that pass has an answer — the activities, a 'couldn't finish' message with a Retry button, or a 'no activities found' answer. It can finish before every idea has surfaced: pressing Retry or reloading the page keeps that research going, and new suggestions can still appear as you chat. • Warning badges are advice, not errors. A red/critical warning on a suggestion is Sage flagging something to think about before you confirm it — it does not mean anything is broken or that a booking is at risk. Dismissed warnings come back if you refresh the page.
Exporting and Sharing
Export your itinerary as a PDF, subscribe to the iCal feed for calendar integration, or share a read-only link with friends, family, or your travel agent. PDF export downloads your itinerary as a multi-page PDF you can print, save, or attach to an email. If an export of your trip ends in "Failed to generate PDF" instead of a file, see "PDF export fails on a few trips" under Known Issues — a share link lets you print a copy in the meantime. Creating a share link: open your trip and choose the Share tab. Choose a permission level — View only (read-only access to the itinerary) or View + comment (viewers can add comments on any day) — and decide whether viewers should see your numbers using "Show estimated costs to viewers" (off by default, so budget and cost figures stay private unless you switch it on). Press Generate link, then use Copy, Share (your device's share sheet), or WhatsApp to send it. The link looks like voyonder.com/share/… and viewers do not need a Voyonder account. What viewers see: day-by-day details, activity descriptions, booking information, and — only if you enabled it — your estimated costs. What viewers never see: your chat history with Sage, your booking checklist, or your traveler profiles. Shared pages are also hidden from search engines. Share the link once the itinerary exists. The shared page shows the newest itinerary of that trip, so if your trip has no itinerary generated yet, everyone you sent the link to sees 'No itinerary has been generated yet' until there is one — creating the itinerary first avoids the question. Comments in a shared view are a separate conversation from your trip's own comment threads. In View + comment mode, the people you shared the link with get a comment thread on each day of the shared itinerary; those comments stay in the shared view and do not appear in your trip's threads, and your trip's threads are not visible in the shared view. In View only mode the shared page has no comment thread at all. Managing links: the Share tab lists every active link with its permission level, so you can tell View only and View + comment links apart. Revoke disables a link immediately — anyone opening it afterwards sees a "not found" page. A revoked link cannot be re-enabled; create a new one instead. Deleting a trip also permanently breaks its share links. Plan requirements: PDF export and share links are available on Explorer and above; the iCal feed requires Adventurer or above. If your plan does not include share links, the Share tab tells you which plan does and links to the plans page — see "The Share tab says share links are not in my plan" under Troubleshooting. If a link you received does not open, see "A shared link shows 'not found'" under Troubleshooting.

Subscription & Billing
Plans, pricing, and billing management.
Subscription Tiers
Voyonder offers three tiers: Explorer ($29/mo founding, $99/mo standard), Adventurer ($79/mo founding, $299/mo standard), and Elite ($499/mo founding, $2,000/mo standard). Founding Member pricing is locked in at these rates — the first 50 subscribers secure these rates forever. After the founding cap is reached, new subscribers pay standard rates. Each tier includes a 7-day free trial. See voyonder.com/pricing for full feature comparisons and the current founding-member count.
Subscribing from the Pricing Page (v0.3.0, QA-verified)
When you're not signed in, the pricing page shows 'Subscribe to [Tier]' buttons instead of 'Start Free Trial'. Clicking one takes you to signup with your chosen tier pre-selected — and the selection travels with your signup link, so even if you open the verification email on a different device or browser, you'll still go straight to checkout after verifying. Once you verify your email, Voyonder creates your account and sends you to Stripe Checkout to complete the subscription — no need to find billing settings later. This works for both new and existing Voyonder accounts. A 7-day free trial applies, so no charge hits your card until the trial ends. Plans purchased this way are billed monthly, and if you have a promo code you can apply it at checkout. If you leave or cancel the checkout page, you'll be returned to the pricing page with nothing charged — your account stays on the free tier and you can subscribe anytime.
Account Portal (v0.3.0)
Your account portal at /account provides a central dashboard for your profile and subscription. From the account overview, you can see your profile summary, subscription status card with tier and plan status, and your 5 most recent trips. The subscription management hub at /account/subscription gives you full self-service: view your current plan with tier name, status badge, price, and billing period dates; check your trip usage vs. plan limits (unlimited for paid tiers); browse your recent invoices with PDF download links; upgrade your plan; or cancel your subscription. The upgrade page at /account/subscription/upgrade shows available tiers inline with pricing and feature comparisons — select a tier and proceed to checkout directly. The cancellation flow at /account/subscription/cancel walks you through a multi-step process: confirm cancellation (your plan stops renewing), optionally share a reason, and see confirmation that access continues through the end of the billing period already paid for. Free-tier users are redirected away from the cancel page.
Managing Your Subscription
Visit your account portal at voyonder.com/account/subscription to view your subscription details, usage, and invoices, upgrade your plan, or cancel. The legacy billing page at voyonder.com/settings/billing still works and directs you to Stripe's secure billing portal for payment method changes. Trial and pre-subscription accounts see read-only status information. Voyonder never stores your payment details.
Free Trial Details (updated v0.2.56)
New accounts receive a 7-day free trial on the Explorer tier. No credit card is required to start. The trial can be started from the onboarding checklist on your dashboard or the welcome page — and it starts automatically for new and legacy accounts alike, so an older account that never had a subscription record will now receive its trial too. Since v0.2.38 the welcome page also starts your trial even if you move fast and your account data is still loading — a quick start never misses the window. Over your first week, you'll receive a welcome email right after signup, plus a day-3 inspiration email ('This week in Voyonder' — real traveler stories) and a day-5 planning pro-tip while you're still in your trial. These follow-ups only go to accounts still on a free trial — paying customers never get them. You can turn all of them off anytime from Settings > Email Notifications, using the "Trial and planning emails" switch. You'll also receive reminders before the trial ends. After the trial, you'll need to choose a plan to continue. Your trips and data are preserved regardless of plan. If your plan showed Free after your trial had started, that is fixed now — see "Your plan showed Free after you started the free trial" under Troubleshooting. There is nothing you need to do.
After You Subscribe (v0.3.0)
After a successful subscription through the pricing page or billing settings, you'll land on a subscription welcome page at /welcome/subscription. It shows a success checkmark with 'Welcome to Voyonder!' (or 'Welcome Back!' for upgrades), your plan card with tier name, price, and features unlocked. Below that, a feature exploration section highlights four things you can do now: plan multi-destination trips, export and share itineraries, discover transport options, and chat with Sage AI for personalized recommendations. Two buttons help you get started: a prominent 'Start Your First Trip' (goes to the welcome page to plan) and 'Manage Subscription' (goes to billing settings). A 'What happens next?' info box explains you'll receive a confirmation email, your billing date is set, and support is available. The page auto-redirects to your dashboard after 6 seconds with a live countdown — click 'Go to dashboard now' to skip the wait.
Team Subscriptions (v0.2.31)
Organizations can now purchase a single subscription that covers the whole team, instead of every member paying separately. Visit Settings > Billing and look for the Team section: admins can upgrade the team's tier or manage billing; other members see the subscription status read-only. The organization pays for one seat per active member, and the seat count adjusts automatically as members join or leave. If a membership change ever fails to sync, Voyonder reconciles the seat count automatically within about 30 minutes. Features follow the higher of your personal tier and your organization's tier — e.g., an Explorer member of an Adventurer organization gets Adventurer features. If the organization's subscription is past due or unpaid, new invitations and acceptances pause until billing is resolved (existing members are unaffected). Downgrades are handled through the Stripe billing portal, not the checkout flow.
Cancellation and Refunds
You can cancel anytime from your billing settings. Access continues through the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for mid-cycle cancellations. Contact support@voyonder.com with any billing questions.
Concierge Payments
Manage one-off payments for concierge bookings — pay online, track status, and view receipts.
Concierge Payments (v0.2.27, updated v0.4.0)
When a concierge booking is confirmed and requires payment, a 'Make a Payment' button appears in the concierge chat panel. Click it to open a secure Stripe Checkout session — complete your payment and you're returned to Voyonder automatically. Payment status is tracked in real-time: pending, processing, succeeded, failed, or refunded. A Payment Summary card shows the amount, date, payment method, and description. Payment status badges appear on confirmed bookings in the concierge request list. Branded receipt emails (v0.4.0): after every successful payment, Voyonder sends its own branded receipt email — no longer relying solely on Stripe's built-in receipts. Each receipt includes a unique receipt number (RCPT-YYYYMMDD-XXXX), the amount paid, payment method (card brand and last four digits, or ACH), the booking description with reference, and Voyonder's support contact information. Both HTML and plain-text versions are included for email client compatibility. Admin Record Payment (v0.4.0): concierge administrators can now record payments directly from the concierge admin detail page at /admin/concierge. This supports both online payments (with a Stripe PaymentIntent reference) and offline payments (cash, check, wire transfer — no Stripe reference needed). Card and ACH (US bank account) payments are supported. Online payments are accepted from $0.50 up to $999,999.99.
Team Settings
Manage your organization, invite teammates, and control roles and permissions.
Organizations
An organization is a group of people who share trips and manage roles together. You can create one or more organizations from the Team Settings page. The person who creates an organization becomes its first admin automatically. Each organization has a name and an optional URL slug.
Roles & Permissions
Each organization member has one of three roles: Admin (can manage members, change roles, invite new people, and edit org settings), Member (can create and edit trips shared with the org), or Viewer (can view org trips but not modify them). Only admins can change a member's role or remove someone from the organization.
Inviting Teammates
Admins can invite new members by email from the team settings page. The invitation is sent via email with a secure link. The invitee does not need an existing account — accepting the invitation creates their account automatically, adds them to the organization, and signs them in. Invitations expire after 7 days, and re-inviting someone creates a fresh link (old ones stop working).
Managing Members
The member roster shows everyone in your organization, their role, and when they joined. Admins can change a member's role or remove them from the organization. An organization always keeps at least one admin — you cannot demote or remove the last admin, protecting your team from being locked out. Non-admin members and viewers see the roster read-only.
Organization Trips
Trips can belong to an organization, making them visible to all organization members from their dashboard. Admin and member roles can create and edit org trips; viewers can view them. Org trips stay private — they never appear in the public gallery. Removing someone from the org revokes their access to org trips automatically.
API Keys
Programmatic access keys for your organization — connect integrations and scripts to Voyonder.
What are API keys?
API keys let your organization connect to Voyonder programmatically — for integrations, scripts, and automation, no browser sign-in required. Keys are scoped to an organization, so each org manages its own keys and usage from one place.
Creating an API key
Open Settings → API Keys and choose your organization. Organization admins can create a key with a name (e.g. "CI deploy"), scopes (defaults to profile:read), and an optional expiry date. Any organization member can view the key list and usage, but only admins can create, rotate, or revoke keys. If your account isn't in an organization yet, you'll be directed to Team Settings to create one first.
Your key is shown exactly once
When you create or rotate a key, voyonder shows the full key (it starts with sk_) exactly once, with a copy button. After that it can never be retrieved again — Voyonder stores only a secure fingerprint. If a key is ever lost or exposed, rotate it: the old key stops working immediately and a fresh one is issued. If two people rotate the same key at the same moment, one rotation succeeds and the other returns a 'Conflict' message — refresh the page to see the current key. Revoked keys stay listed (marked as revoked) with their usage history for your records.
Using your key
Send your key in the Authorization header of your request: Authorization: Bearer *** . Keys are rate-limited per key to 60 requests per minute by default. If you hit the limit you'll receive a 429 response with a Retry-After header telling you how long to wait — usually about a second. Invalid or expired keys return a generic 401 "Invalid API key" so a leaked key can't reveal its own status.
Usage dashboard
Each organization's API Keys page shows a per-key usage dashboard with request counts for the last 30 days (adjustable up to 90 days). Request counts are the honest, reliable metric — latency and error-rate reporting are not available yet.
Troubleshooting API keys
Missing Bearer API key: no Authorization header was sent. Invalid API key: the key is wrong, revoked, expired, or malformed — check the key list and rotate if needed. 429 Too many failed attempts from this address: too many requests with a bad key from the same address — fix the key in your integration; valid keys are never blocked this way. Rate limit exceeded: wait for the Retry-After period and retry. 409 Conflict when rotating: if rotating a key returns a conflict error, the key was already rotated — refresh the key list to see the replacement key.
Troubleshooting
Common issues and how to resolve them.
A shared link shows 'not found'
A share link opens a "not found" page when the link no longer refers to an active shared itinerary. There are four possible causes, in order of likelihood: 1. The link was revoked. The trip owner can revoke any share link from the trip's Share tab, and every copy of that link stops working immediately (this cannot be undone — a new link is needed). 2. The link is incomplete. Share links end with a long code (voyonder.com/share/ followed by that code). Chat apps and email clients sometimes wrap or trim long URLs — copy the full link from the Share tab again rather than retyping it. 3. It is a trip-page address, not a share link. The URL of your own trip page while signed in is not a share link and will not open for anyone else. Only links created in the Share tab are shareable. 4. The trip was deleted. Deleting a trip permanently breaks every share link that pointed to it. A temporary problem on our side does not show this page. This page means the link itself no longer refers to a shared itinerary: if what you get instead is an error message, or the page fails to load and then works a minute later, the link is probably fine and the fault is ours — try again shortly, and if it keeps happening email support@voyonder.com with the link and the time you tried. What to do: if you are the trip owner, open the trip, go to the Share tab, and create a fresh link. If you received the link from someone else, ask them to send a new one — you do not need an account to view a working link.
A page looks blank or a section is missing
Voyonder runs in your browser, and some of it needs JavaScript to work. If scripts are blocked — by a browser extension or content blocker, a corporate proxy or device policy, or a script that failed to load — the parts that depend on them cannot run. What works without JavaScript: the pricing page shows every plan, the prices, the feature comparison table and working sign-up buttons, so you can read the plans and reach sign-up without unblocking anything. These documentation pages are readable too, and so is a complete sample itinerary at voyonder.com/sample-rome-5day (five days in Rome, with costs, timings and booking notes). A shared trip link is the same: it opens and shows the itinerary as normal, and only adding a comment to it needs JavaScript. What needs JavaScript: the interactive demo — with scripts off the homepage replaces it with a short notice that says so, and the demo page at voyonder.com/demo does not run either, so read the sample itinerary instead — the search box on these documentation pages, and everything behind sign-in: planning a trip, chatting with Sage and checkout. What you will see when a page that needs scripts has them blocked: the page loads, but the part you came for is missing or does nothing — for example the demo box is replaced by a notice and typing in it has no effect. Your account, your plan, and your saved trips are unaffected; this is a display problem in that browser. What to do: reload in a normal (non-private) window with extensions or content blockers paused, or try another browser or network. If the pricing page or a documentation page looks incomplete, reload once — a browser can keep serving an older copy of a page after we update the site. If other sites work and Voyonder still does not, email support@voyonder.com with the page address and what you see and we will tell you whether it is a known issue.
The Share tab says share links are not in my plan
Share links are available on the Explorer plan and above. On a plan without them, the Share tab says so: a message names the plan that includes share links, names the plan you are on, and offers a Compare plans link, and the Generate link button is greyed out instead of appearing to work. What you'll experience: you open a trip and choose Share; a message above the Create shareable link panel states the plan requirement and your current plan, with a Compare plans link beside it. What to do: choose a plan that includes share links and the Share tab creates them exactly as described under Exporting and Sharing. If you are already on Explorer or above and still see that message, contact support@voyonder.com with the trip name — your plan may not have applied to your account yet.
I can't sign in
If you signed up by email, check that you're using the same email you signed up with. Magic links expire after 1 hour — if your link has expired or shows 'Invalid or expired link', use the 'Get a new link' form right on that screen to receive a fresh one, no need to go back. If the email isn't arriving at all, check your spam/promotions folder first, then use the 'Resend email' button on the sign-up or sign-in screen (both have a 30-second cooldown). If you signed up with Google, use the "Continue with Google" button on the sign-in page instead. If you still can't sign in, contact support@voyonder.com.
I clicked 'Subscribe to [Tier]' but wasn't taken to the payment page
After verifying your email, you should land on Stripe's secure checkout page for the tier you picked. If you instead arrive at the welcome page or dashboard, the subscribe step was skipped — this can happen if the checkout couldn't be set up (rare) or if your email app altered your sign-in link. Your account is still created and your sign-in still works, so sign in and subscribe from Settings > Billing, or start again from the pricing page. If you completed a payment but your plan still shows as Free after a few minutes, contact support@voyonder.com.
I created a trip but saw an upgrade offer instead of going straight to my trip (v0.3.0)
If you're on the free plan or a free trial, you may see a one-time upgrade nudge after creating your first trip in a session. This is intentional — it gives you a chance to start a 7-day free trial (if you haven't already) or upgrade to a paid plan before diving into your itinerary. The nudge auto-redirects to your trip after 5 seconds if you don't make a choice. If you've already seen it once in your current session, it won't reappear until you close and reopen your browser. Click 'Continue to your trip' to go straight to your itinerary, or choose 'Start Free Trial' / 'Upgrade Now' to take the next step.
I accepted or rejected a suggestion by accident
Accept and Reject take effect immediately and there is currently no undo button, so an accidental click cannot be reversed from the suggestion card itself. Why it happens: both buttons save your decision straight away (accepted suggestions move into your confirmed itinerary, rejected ones fade out and stay hidden — even after you refresh the page). The card also stops showing a green 'Accepted' badge about half a second after you click, which is normal and not a sign that the click failed. What to do: • Rejected by accident: ask Sage in chat to suggest it again — for example, 'Suggest that cooking class again' or 'What else is good for day 3?' The suggestion can be offered again, and rejecting it did not remove anything from your trip. • Accepted by accident: the activity is now in your itinerary. Remove it the normal way — ask Sage to take it out ('Remove the museum from day 2') or edit the day directly on the trip page. If a click appeared to do nothing at all — the card stayed put and you saw a red 'Failed to accept/reject suggestion' message — that means the decision could not be saved, so nothing changed. Restore your connection and click the button again. Nothing is lost in that case, but nothing was saved either.
The pre-build progress indicator went quiet on a first visit
When you open a trip, a status bar at the top tracks the first pass of research for your destinations: it says Sage is checking what we know about [destination], then that Sage is researching, alongside a count of activities found so far. It updates every few seconds while that work is in flight. What you'll see: for a destination that is new to us the count can sit at 0 for the whole first pass, because a destination's total only becomes available once its research finishes — the count climbing is the part that arrives late, not the research. On a slow first visit the bar changes what it says rather than going quiet: after a while it reads 'Sage is still looking at [destination] — searching a place from scratch usually takes about two minutes.', which is the progress message telling you the truth about a slow first visit — not a failure, and nothing you need to act on. The bar normally ends by resolving rather than by going quiet: in the activities themselves, in 'We couldn't finish finding activities for [destination]' with a Retry button, or in 'No activities found for [destination]' when the research finished and found nothing. It only fades away by itself after it has reported activities. If it has been saying it is still looking for many minutes and nothing arrives, reload the page — the activities we have already saved appear straight away — and use the support address at the end of this card if the bar still says it. What to do: • Read the bar as a sign that work is happening, not as a countdown — and treat the final number as the accurate total. • If it says it is still looking, wait: the research is running and the activities appear when it finishes. • If it ends in 'couldn't finish', look again a few seconds later before pressing anything — while the research is still running, that message is replaced by the activities as soon as they arrive. If it stays, press Retry or reload the page: the activities are saved once the research finishes, and a reload reads them. • If it ends in 'No activities found', the research finished and that place has nothing to recommend yet; a nearby destination, or a question to Sage in chat, is the next step. If the bar is still saying it is checking or researching after a couple of minutes on more than one attempt, email support@voyonder.com with the destination and roughly when you opened the trip.
The trip page says 'Research incomplete'
When a trip is created, copied from the gallery, or given a new destination, Sage starts researching that destination in the background. While that runs, the trip page shows a short blue message — "Researching destinations…" with a Skip button. If the research cannot be started, or a destination has to be set aside, that message turns amber and reads "Research incomplete — some destinations could not be queued." or "Research incomplete — some destinations were deferred." What each one means: "could not be queued" means our background research for that destination did not start — usually a temporary problem on our side, not something you did. "Deferred" means the destination was set aside because you already had three or more research requests in progress at that moment; it is a per-account limit, not a judgment about the destination. What to do: • Plan as normal. Your trip saves, edits, shares, and opens offline exactly as before — what is missing is only the head start on research for that destination. • Ask Sage about the destination. A question about a place with no research on file starts its research straight away — for example, 'What should I do in Kyoto?' • Or remove the destination from the trip and add it back. Adding a destination starts its research again. • If it still reads incomplete after both, email support@voyonder.com with the trip name, the destination, and which of the two messages you saw.
My trip is only partly planned
If your itinerary covers only part of your stay, the notice at the end of the plan says where it reached: "Planned 13 Dec – 19 Dec (7 of 22 days). 20 Dec – 3 Jan is not planned yet." Nothing that is planned is lost — those days are saved on the trip, along with the dates the trip is planned for, and reopening the trip shows the same plan. Why a plan can stop early: Sage plans a long stay a week at a time, up to about eight weeks in one go — a stay longer than that is planned as far as that reaches, and the notice says where it stopped. A week that comes back with no new days ends it the same way, rather than repeating itself. Either way it is not a fault you can clear by reloading or retrying, and the days that are there are complete. A trip that already had part of a plan stays as it was. Trips made from a template or copied from the gallery arrive with days already in the plan, and the planning described above works on a trip that has no plan yet — so for those trips it does not fill in the rest. Nothing is overwritten and the existing days are untouched; for the same dates, start a new trip and give Sage the destination and the dates in your first message. If a plan stops short on a new trip, the notice names the span that is not planned. You can ask Sage in chat to plan those dates, and a new trip with the destination and the dates in the first message plans the stay from the start. If it stops at the same point again, email support@voyonder.com with the destination and the dates — that is worth recording.
My itinerary looks wrong
Sage builds itineraries based on the information you provide. If something doesn't look right, tell Sage what to change — it understands natural language corrections. You can also manually adjust activities, days, and stops from the trip view. If the dates look wrong rather than the days — the whole itinerary carries a year earlier than the one you asked for — that is the known fault described under 'The trip is dated a year earlier than I asked for': it happens when the dates in your first message are written in words. Asking Sage to re-plan does not change the dates already stored on a trip, so start a new trip with the dates written as 2027-03-02 to 2027-03-22.
I accepted the risk on a safety warning and nothing happened
Accepting a safety warning counts as an edit to the trip, so it needs editor access — the trip owner, or a collaborator invited as an editor. What to do first: a Critical or Major warning asks you to confirm before the risk is accepted. Press Accept Risk / Dismiss once and the button changes to Confirm Dismiss; if you pressed only once, nothing has been accepted yet, and the warning staying put is expected. Press again to confirm. Once confirmed, the warning is removed from the activity — it stops appearing for everyone on the trip, and it stops being passed to Sage when it reviews your plan. It does not change to a different label; it goes away. If you are the trip owner or an editor and the warning is still there after confirming, email support@voyonder.com with the trip name, the activity the warning is on, whether the warning is Critical, Major or Minor, and roughly when you pressed the button.
A research request isn't understood correctly
Research requests are parsed for the key travel details — destinations, dates, budget, hotels, airlines, activities, and traveler count. If a detail is missed or misread, rephrase it plainly (for example: 'flights to Tokyo in December under $800 for 4 people') and try again. Most common phrasings are recognized; if a request is over 500 characters, shorten it and resubmit. Sage may also ask one clarifying question (for example, to confirm a budget or dates) before producing results — that is normal, just answer in plain English.
Sage researched a destination but nothing appeared in my itinerary
This is expected: research is not added to your itinerary automatically. Most of it appears in the chat, as Research cards under Sage's reply — one per source (Destination Overview, Accommodation, Activity, Transport, Safety, and so on), each with a short summary and a freshness line — and the trip page shows the destination safety section with its own freshness label. Your day-by-day itinerary stays as you left it. What to do: to bring a result into your plan, ask Sage in chat — for example, 'Add the Hotel Artemide to day 2' — or use the accept controls on suggestions in the itinerary panel. If Sage's reply showed no Research cards at all, check that the trip has destinations set and ask again naming the place (for example, 'What hotels do you recommend in Ljubljana?'). A destination researched for the first time usually takes about a minute; if the researching message stays on screen, send the question again after a minute — see 'Sage says it is researching a destination, then the message stays on screen' under Known Issues.
Sage showed an error instead of a reply
Occasionally a chat message comes back with 'Sage encountered an error. Please try again in a moment.' instead of a reply. This is a temporary hiccup on the AI provider's side — the service that generates Sage's responses can briefly rate-limit requests during busy periods. It is not caused by anything you did, and your trip and data are unaffected. What to do: wait about 30–45 seconds, then use the '↺ Retry' button shown with the error (or simply send your message again). Retrying is safe — it re-sends only the failed message and will not create a duplicate trip or duplicate items in your itinerary. If the error keeps happening for more than a few minutes, contact support@voyonder.com with the approximate time.
Activities aren't loading or seem outdated
Activities already gathered for a destination load from the saved copy when you open the trip, so you are not waiting on fresh research every time. When that saved copy needs updating, the page refreshes it while you browse — reloading the page also pulls the latest copy. If a destination has nothing yet, the trip shows one of four messages. 'Sage is checking what we know about [destination]…' means research has just started and needs no action from you. 'Sage is still looking at [destination] — searching a place from scratch usually takes about two minutes.' means research is still running — a destination researched for the first time can take up to about two minutes, and this is the message that says so while you wait. 'We couldn't finish finding activities for [destination]', with a Retry button, means our research reported a problem or was still running well past two minutes with nothing found yet; when the research is still running, that message is replaced by the activities as soon as they arrive. 'No activities found for [destination] — try a nearby destination' means the research finished and genuinely found nothing for that place. What to do: • If you saw the 'couldn't finish' message, give it a few seconds first — while the research is still running, the message is replaced by the activities on its own. If it stays, press Retry or reload the page: the activities are usually there by then — 20 cards with a description, duration, difficulty and price — and reloading costs nothing. • If you saw 'No activities found', try a nearby destination, or ask Sage in chat for ideas — 'What are three good things to do in Lisbon with two teenagers?' — which works for any destination. • If the panel is empty for a destination you can see other trips have activities for, reload once and then email support@voyonder.com with the trip name, the destination, roughly when you opened the trip, and which of the messages you saw. • If an activity does not appear on the map, that is a separate limitation: some destinations have only a few of their activities placed on the map. The activity is complete on its card and can still be added to a day. Personalized suggestions are not available for every destination in the world yet — researched activities currently exist for 30 destinations. An empty panel for a place outside that coverage is not an error, and emailing us the destination is how that coverage gets ordered.
I got a 'Too many requests' error
Voyonder applies rate limits to protect the service from bursts and abuse. Normal human-paced use never hits a limit. If you see a 'Too many requests' message, the most common causes are: rapid sign-in attempts (10 per minute per IP), clicking 'Resend email' many times (5 sends per hour per email), sending many Sage messages in a row (30 per minute), rapidly saving trips (60 saves per minute), or exceeding the daily Sage generation cap (50 per rolling 24-hour window). Wait a few seconds and retry — most limits reset within seconds, the slowest one (email resends) allows a new send after about 12 minutes, and the daily cap resets the next day.

I can't invite someone to my organization
Only organization admins can send invitations. If you're a member or viewer, the invite option won't be available. Check your role in the Team Settings page — if you need to invite someone, ask an admin to do it or to upgrade your role.
My invitation link doesn't work
Invitations expire after 7 days. If your link has expired, ask an admin to re-invite you — this creates a fresh link. Only the most recent invitation link works; any previous links are invalidated. If you already have an account, make sure you're signed in with the same email the invitation was sent to.
I can't see an org trip on my dashboard
Organization trips are visible to all org members. Check that you're signed in with the email associated with your organization membership. If you were recently removed from the organization, you'll lose access to its trips. Contact an admin if you believe this is a mistake.
Why am I seeing a survey after my trip?
Voyonder may ask you to rate your travel planning experience after you complete a trip. This NPS (Net Promoter Score) survey helps us understand how well Sage and Voyonder are serving you. If you see the prompt, you can choose a score, select 'Ask me later' (reappears in 48 hours), or 'Skip' (dismiss permanently). Your feedback is anonymous and used only to improve the product.
I accidentally removed someone from my organization
Removing a member from an organization is permanent and cannot be undone from the settings page. To add someone back, an admin can send a new invitation — the person receives a fresh invitation link, and once they accept, their membership is restored with the role from the new invitation.
Your plan showed Free after you started the free trial
If you started the 7-day Explorer trial without a credit card, the trial was recorded as started — you got an end date and a countdown on your dashboard — while your plan still behaved as Free. That was a fault on our side, not a setting you missed and not something you did. It is fixed: starting a trial without a card now unlocks Explorer straight away, with the Explorer trip allowance and share links, for the full 7 days. PDF export is unlocked on the trial too, and it downloads your itinerary as a PDF on the trips where export works — see "PDF export fails on a few trips" under Known Issues for the trips it does not. What you would have seen: the dashboard banner counted the trial down while your account page showed the Free plan. The trip limit stayed at 1, so creating a second trip was refused with "You've reached the limit of 1 trip on your plan". Share links and PDF export were refused as well, because they are Explorer features. Starting the trial again did not help: the attempt was already recorded as used, so the app told you that you had already had your free trial. What to do now: nothing. Accounts that started a trial without a card before the fix are corrected automatically — there is no email to send, no second account to create, and your trial's end date is unchanged. If your account still shows the Free plan while a trial is running, sign out and back in; if it still shows Free, write to support@voyonder.com from the address on the account, but you should not need to. Trials started with a credit card were never affected — those unlocked Explorer normally all along. Your trips, planning work and history are unchanged throughout, whichever way your trial was started.
Trial follow-up emails keep arriving
While your Explorer trial is running, Voyonder sends a short series of emails about it: one two days before the trial ends, one the day before, one on the day it ends, and — if you have not upgraded by then — a single follow-up three days later. Each of those is sent at most once per account, and they go only to accounts that were still in their free trial. Paying customers never receive them. What you'll experience: the emails keep arriving until you switch them off. Turning off push notifications on your phone or in your browser does not stop them — push settings are per device and cover trip reminders only. What to do: open Settings > Email Notifications and switch off "Trial and planning emails". That single switch covers every trial reminder, the follow-up after your trial ends, the welcome sequence, and the occasional re-engagement email; it takes effect immediately and stops anything not already sent, and you can switch it back on at any time. Receipts and account emails (password resets, security notices) are not affected by this switch. If you would rather not sign in to change it, write to support@voyonder.com from the address on your account and we will turn it off for you.
The trip sidebar says "Travelers not set"
The trip sidebar shows the number of travelers on the trip. When a trip has no traveler count and no traveler profiles, it says "Travelers not set" instead of a number — that is the trip telling you the count was never entered, not a display fault. Nothing about your itinerary is affected. What you'll see: under the trip name, "Travelers not set" where you would expect "2 adults". Sage's summary of the trip says the count is not set. What to do: add the people travelling to the trip as traveler profiles — create them under Traveler Profiles and add them to the trip — and the sidebar shows that count. If the count is set and the sidebar still disagrees with it, contact support@voyonder.com with the trip name.
The trip page is empty when I have no signal
Voyonder saves a copy of your itinerary on your device when you open a trip with a connection. If you then lose the connection, the trip page shows that saved copy instead of an empty page. What you'll see: with no signal, an amber bar across the top of the trip page reads 'Offline — read-only mode · Last synced just now', with 'No connection' at the right-hand end. The time after 'Last synced' moves on — '12m ago', '3h ago', then a date — so the bar always tells you how old the copy is. Below it are the days you had when you last opened the trip, with their activities, timings and booking details. Read-only means exactly that: editing is unavailable while you are offline and anything you change on that screen is not saved, so the trip is unchanged when you reconnect. The copy is the one from your last sync, so anything changed online since then — on another device, or by someone the trip is shared with — is not in it yet; it appears on the next load with a connection. What to do: open the trip once while you have a connection — that is when the copy is saved — and it is there for you offline. If the offline page is still empty after opening the trip online, or you want a copy you own rather than one on your device, subscribe to the iCal feed to keep your itinerary in your phone's calendar app. PDF export downloads a copy of the itinerary you can keep, and on the small number of trips where it ends in "Failed to generate PDF", see "PDF export fails on a few trips" under Known Issues. If neither works, contact support@voyonder.com with the trip name and your device.
Rate Limits
Voyonder applies rate limits to keep the service fast and reliable for everyone. Here's what's protected, how to recover, and what to expect.
Why does Voyonder have rate limits?
Rate limits protect Voyonder's service quality for everyone. They prevent accidental bursts or abusive traffic from degrading the experience for other users. Normal human-paced use never approaches any of these limits — they only kick in during unusual activity. Most limits reset within seconds; the slowest ones reset within hours.
Sign-in and email limits
Sign-in attempts: 10 per minute per IP address. If you mistype your email or refresh the sign-in page rapidly, wait a few seconds before trying again. Email resend: 5 sends per hour per email address. The 'Resend email' button on the sign-up and sign-in screens has a 30-second cooldown between clicks. If you need more than 5 resends in an hour, wait about 12 minutes for the next available send.
Sage AI limits
Chat messages: 30 Sage messages per minute. If you're rapidly iterating with Sage, you may briefly hit this limit — wait a few seconds and continue. Daily generation cap: 50 AI generations per user per rolling 24-hour window. This covers the Sage chat responses that generate or modify itineraries. If you hit this cap, you'll see a clear message and can try again the next day. The cap keeps AI capacity available for everyone and can be raised as capacity grows. Hourly token budget: soft warning at 50,000 tokens, hard limit at 100,000 tokens per hour. Normal conversations use a tiny fraction of these budgets — they only protect against excessive programmatic usage. If you hit the hard limit, you'll see a message and can try again after a short wait.
Trip and data limits
Trip saves: 60 saves per minute. This covers creating, updating, or deleting trips. Normal trip editing never approaches this limit. API key rate limits: 60 requests per minute per key. If you're using the Voyonder API programmatically and hit this limit, you'll receive a 429 response with a Retry-After header telling you how long to wait (usually about a second). Invalid or expired keys return a generic 401 response so a leaked key cannot reveal its own status. Concierge payment endpoints: 20 requests per 60 seconds per IP address. If you see a 'Too many requests' message while making a concierge payment, wait a few seconds and try again.
How to recover from a rate limit
If you see a 'Too many requests. Please try again.' message, the simplest fix is to wait a few seconds and retry. Most limits reset within seconds. Email resend limits are the slowest — they allow a new send after about 12 minutes. The daily Sage generation cap resets after 24 hours from the first generation in the window. API rate limits include a Retry-After header in the response telling you exactly how long to wait. If you're consistently hitting limits during normal use, contact support@voyonder.com — we may be able to adjust limits for your use case.
Known Issues
Current known limitations and how they affect your Voyonder experience.
PDF export fails on a few trips
PDF export works: choosing PDF export on a trip downloads your itinerary as a PDF you can print, save or attach to an email. On a small number of trips the export still ends with a short "Failed to generate PDF" message and no file is downloaded. Your itinerary is not affected either way — nothing is missing from the trip and nothing has been deleted. What you'll see: on a trip page, choosing PDF export either downloads a multi-page PDF, or ends with "Failed to generate PDF" and no file. Share links, the iCal feed and the rest of the trip page work normally in both cases. Who it affects: a few trips, not a plan or a trial. Every plan that includes PDF export exports normally; the trips that fail have a particular layout in their saved tips, so the message is about that trip, not about your account or your plan. What to do: a read-only share link (Share tab) opens your itinerary as a page you can print from your browser — choose Print, then Save as PDF, to keep your own copy. On Adventurer and above, the iCal feed in the Share tab keeps your itinerary in your calendar app. If you need a PDF for an upcoming trip, write to support@voyonder.com from the address on your account with the trip name and dates, and we will send you one. Status: for the trips affected this is a fault on our side and it is not something you did. Trips, share links, iCal feeds, billing and your account are unaffected.
An invited travel companion cannot open the trip in Voyonder
If you were invited to a trip as a viewer or as an editor, you cannot open that trip in Voyonder at the moment. Your role on the trip is recorded, and it is what decides what you are allowed to do — but there is no page in the app that shows a trip to anyone other than the account that created it. What you'll experience: the invitation email arrives with a Join this trip link. Pressing it signs you in, or sets up your account from the address it was sent to, and then shows a "not found" page instead of the trip. The trip does not open from your dashboard either: if it belongs to an organization you are in it is listed there, but choosing it returns you to the dashboard with no error message. Why it happens: opening a trip has always been limited to the person who created it. Being invited as a collaborator records your role; it does not create a page for you to open. What to do: ask the person who invited you for a share link instead — their trip, then the Share tab. A View + comment link opens the itinerary in a page you can read without an account, and comment on, day by day. A View only link opens it without a comment thread. The trip's own comment threads are not reachable through a share link either way. Status: the trip itself is unaffected and your role is recorded. Nothing you did caused this, and nothing is missing from the trip.
An older Sage conversation shows odd instruction text
A conversation you had before 20 October 2026 can still show the short instructions Sage used to write for itself while it updated your trip. They read like a note to a system rather than something a traveler would say — a line such as “add this activity” followed by a block of details in curly brackets — and a block can stop partway through, leaving a fragment at the end of a line. Why it happens: those instructions were part of what Sage wrote in the reply, and the reply was saved exactly as it was written. From 20 October 2026 Sage no longer writes them into the conversation and no longer saves them, so a conversation started after that date does not contain them. Messages saved earlier keep the text they already had; older conversations are not rewritten. What it means for your trip: nothing. Each note records a change Sage was making — an activity, a transport link, a detail about one of your travelers — and your itinerary is where you see what was actually applied. The fragments are only the text of the note: they are not a fault in the plan, and they do not spread into new messages. What to do: • Scrolling back through an older conversation: nothing. The fragments are the record of that conversation as it was saved. • If you want a clean walk-through of the plan, ask Sage again in the same trip (for example, “Take me through the Lyon days again”) — the new reply is written without them. • If you see this in a conversation you started after 20 October 2026, that is not expected: send us the trip name and roughly when it happened at support@voyonder.com and we will look into it.
Daily AI Generation Cap (50 per day)
Voyonder's AI travel concierge Sage generates itineraries, activity suggestions, and travel recommendations using our AI provider. To keep AI capacity available and fair for all users, there is a limit of 50 AI generations per user per rolling 24-hour window. Each Sage chat response that generates or modifies an itinerary counts toward this cap. What you'll experience: When you reach the 50-generation cap, your next request displays a clear message explaining the limit has been reached. You can continue to browse and view your existing itineraries normally — only new AI generation requests are blocked. The count resets 24 hours after your first generation in the window, not at a fixed calendar time. Workaround: Wait for the rolling 24-hour window to reset. The cap is applied per-user, so it does not reset between devices or browsers. Normal trip planning rarely approaches this limit — it only affects heavy day-long planning sessions. If you consistently need more than 50 generations per day, contact support@voyonder.com — we may be able to raise the cap for your account as our AI capacity grows. Behind the scenes: the cap is applied per account, so it follows you across browsers and devices rather than applying per device. Our AI capacity is shared across everyone using Voyonder, and the 50-per-day ceiling is what keeps that capacity available. We review the ceiling as capacity grows, and this page is updated if it changes.
Silent Trial Expiry Behavior
When you sign up for Voyonder's free 7-day trial without entering a credit card, there is no payment method on file and nothing is charged when the trial ends. Your trial simply runs out and your account returns to the Free tier. What you'll experience: After your 7-day trial ends, your account returns to the Free tier — you'll see this the next time you sign in or open your account page. Free tier limits apply: you can maintain up to 1 active trip and access basic trip planning features. Your existing trips and data are preserved — nothing is deleted. The trial banner on your dashboard will update to show that your trial has ended. You will also hear from us by email as the trial ends: one two days before it ends, one the day before, one on the day it ends (subject 'Your Voyonder trial has ended'), and — if you have not upgraded by then — one follow-up three days later. The two reminders before the end also arrive as push notifications if you have push reminders switched on. You can stop them anytime from Settings > Email Notifications, using the 'Trial and planning emails' switch. What to do: If you want to keep using Explorer features (or upgrade to Adventurer or Elite), visit your account portal at /account/subscription or the pricing page at /pricing to subscribe. All your trips and planning data are waiting for you after you upgrade — nothing is lost during the transition. If you started a trial with a credit card, your subscription bills normally and you'll receive an invoice when the trial ends.
Research Delays When AI Capacity Is Limited
Sage's background research pipeline — which searches for activities, accommodations, transport options, and dining recommendations — depends on our AI provider being available to generate research results. When that provider is unavailable or has reached its rate limit, research requests may queue but not complete, or return empty results. What you'll experience: If the research pipeline cannot reach our AI provider, you may see: research requests that stay in "queued" status longer than usual, fewer or no activity suggestions when opening a trip, or the pre-build progress indicator (scanning → researching → enriching) getting stuck on one phase. Sage's chat responses that rely on fresh research data may also be delayed or less detailed. What to do: research usually recovers on its own — try again in a few minutes, and results gathered from earlier queries stay available even during an outage. If research keeps failing while the rest of Sage is working normally, contact support@voyonder.com with the destination and approximate time.
Sage says it is researching a destination, then the message stays on screen
When you ask about a destination Voyonder has not researched yet, Sage replies that it is looking into it — for example, 'I'm researching Ljubljana options now…' — and starts that research in the background. The research does finish, usually in about a minute. The message asking you to wait does not always clear when it does, and the answer to that question can be left waiting even though the research is ready. What you'll experience: the researching message stays in the chat with no reply below it, and nothing arrives on its own. Asking again works, and so does any other question — it is only that one reply that never lands. Nothing is lost: the research for that destination has been saved and is used from your next question onwards. What to do: send the question again after about a minute. Sage answers it from the research that has just finished, and the Research cards appear with the reply. If a second ask still produces no answer after a couple of minutes, email support@voyonder.com with the destination and the approximate time. Status: this is a known fault in how the chat reports research progress. It is not something you did, and your trip, your itinerary and your research are unaffected. We will remove this entry when the researching message clears itself and the reply arrives without asking again.
The trip is dated a year earlier than I asked for
Sage takes your trip dates from your first message, and it reads dates written in numbers differently from dates written in words. What you'll experience: if you write your dates out — 'Lisbon, arriving 2 March 2027, leaving 22 March 2027' — the year you wrote is not kept, so the trip is dated in the current year instead. A March 2027 stay becomes March 2026, a date in the past, while the plan still covers the right number of days. Sage's reply does not mention dates, and the trip page's compact header shows days and months without a year, so the year that was stored is in the trip overview: expand the overview at the top of the trip page and the dates there read, for example, 'Mar 2, 2026 – Mar 22, 2026'. A stay that crosses New Year can look right by coincidence: the January end date rolls forward to the following year, which is the year you asked for. What to do: write your dates as year-month-day in your first message — 'Lisbon, 2027-03-02 to 2027-03-22, just me'. Dates in that form keep the year you wrote. If a plan has already been written with the wrong year, start a new trip for those dates written that way; the dates on a trip that already exists cannot be corrected by asking Sage in the chat. Your itinerary and everything else about the trip are otherwise unaffected — only the year is wrong. Status: this is a known fault on our side, not something you entered wrongly. We will remove this entry once dates written in words are read with the year you wrote. Until then, if a trip is already affected, email support@voyonder.com with the trip name and the dates you asked for.
Activity search can show the whole list, or nothing, for a place that has activities
The Add Activity panel on a trip lets you look for activities to add to a day. Two parts of it do not behave the way they look: the term you type is not used to narrow the list, and a town name is matched only against the wider region an activity is filed under. A third part, the "ask Sage" link under the search box, does nothing when you click it. What you'll experience: if you type anything into the search box, the panel lists the whole activity catalogue rather than the activities that match, so a term that matches nothing still comes back with results, and a term that matches one activity comes back with all of them. If you search for a town instead (Bovec, for example), the panel can come back empty even though activities are there, because they are filed under the surrounding region "Soča Valley" and the panel does not look inside each activity's address. When the panel is empty it shows the same line whether your search found nothing, whether the search failed, or whether you have not searched yet, so the panel cannot tell you which of those happened. What to do: read the returned list rather than trusting the search term. With the panel's current catalogue that is a short list of example activities, and the one you want, if it exists, is in it. If you searched for a town and got an empty panel, try the region name the activity is filed under instead (for example "Soča Valley" rather than "Bovec"). An empty or short list can also simply mean the destination has no activities in the catalogue yet. To have Sage suggest activities for a day, ask in the Sage chat directly instead of using the link under the search box. Status: this is a known fault, not a setting you have missed. If a result looks wrong and the steps above do not explain it, email support@voyonder.com with the trip name, the day, and the term you typed. We will remove this entry once the panel filters on what you type and the link opens Sage.
R1a: Intermittent 🐴 emoji in browser page title (cosmetic)
On some signed-in pages, the browser tab may intermittently show a horse emoji before the page name — for example, "🐴 Voyonder — AI-Powered Travel Planning" or "🐴 Sign In — Voyonder." Only the text in the tab is affected; the page itself loads and works normally. It is intermittent — refreshing the page typically clears it. What you'll see: The browser tab title on pages like /dashboard or /login sometimes includes a horse emoji before "Voyonder." The page itself works normally. What to do: Refresh the page. The tab title returns to normal, and nothing about the page or your data is affected.
Sage chat can briefly return an error during busy periods (transient)
During busy periods, the AI provider that powers Sage can briefly rate-limit requests. When that happens, a chat turn may come back with 'Sage encountered an error. Please try again in a moment.' instead of a reply, and no answer is generated for that message. What you'll experience: A single chat message fails with the error above. Everything else is unaffected — your trips, existing itineraries, and research results are all intact. Only the one message is dropped. What to do: Wait about 30–45 seconds, then use the '↺ Retry' button shown with the error, or resend your message. Retrying is safe and usually succeeds. If you see this repeatedly over several minutes, contact support@voyonder.com with the approximate time so we can investigate. There is no automatic retry: the ↺ Retry button shown with the error is the reliable way to resend.
